The SPEER-A project aims to deliver practical and transferable solutions that strengthen earthquake preparedness and emergency response capacity in the Black Sea Basin region. Beyond the development of innovative tools and studies, the project seeks to ensure that its results are adopted and further developed by organizations, thus creating a lasting impact beyond the project lifetime.
Solution 1 – Virtual Reality Laboratory for the Earthquake Hazard Framework

An innovative Virtual Reality Laboratory that enhances the understanding and visualization of earthquake hazards and related phenomena, supporting informed decision-making.

Solution 2 – Mobile Application for Earthquake Preparedness and Response
A user-oriented mobile application providing emergency preparedness guides, educational resources and offline information for use during earthquake emergencies.

Solution 3 – Adaptable Emergency Housing Unit
An architectural concept for temporary emergency accommodation designed according to the climatic and social characteristics of the Black Sea Basin countries and based on the principles of the New European Bauhaus.

Additionally, the four project partners have agreed to continue their collaboration beyond the lifetime of SPEER-A through the signing of a cooperation agreement. In addition, they will actively encourage the involvement of new institutions and stakeholders to expand the partnership and strengthen the network established during the project.
The long-term impacts of this cross-border cooperation are expected to extend well beyond the project’s duration. By continuing to work together, organizations will be able to share expertise, exchange knowledge and develop coordinated approaches to address common challenges related to disaster risk management and resilience.
Sustained cooperation will foster innovation, strengthen institutional capacities and contribute to more effective preparedness and response mechanisms. Furthermore, it will promote mutual trust, facilitate international collaboration and support the development of a more interconnected and resilient Black Sea Basin region.
Through the continuation and expansion of this partnership, SPEER-A aims to create a lasting framework for cooperation that will enhance knowledge exchange, encourage the transfer of good practices and generate benefits for communities across national borders.
